HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
World Leadership Day was founded and launched by Elisabeth Gortschacher of E.E.G. Coaching Pty Ltd, on 20 March 2007 in Sydney Australia. The idea of establishing WLD was born during the work with her US publicist, Nancy Mills in September 2006.From a very young age Elisabeth’s life taught her about leadership and self-determination. She used every opportunity to learn and grow, which became the currency for navigating the direction of her life. Elisabeth’s passion and commitment to bringing out the best in people, has served as a catalyst for personal and professional leadership development in people from all walks of life.
Elisabeth's life has shown her that when people commit to bringing the deepest and best parts of themselves forward, they connect to a capacity for leadership beyond what they had ever imagined.With founding and launching World Leadership Day, Elisabeth has stepped up the expression of her soul’s purpose and turned her passion for authentic leadership development into a global initiative to inspire, connect and transform leadership thinking across generations, gender and cultures.
World Leadership Day, celebrated on or around 20th March each year, is rapidly growing in scope and presence. It has developed the reputation “as being by far the most professional and global leadership event” and is being recognized as the platform that lights up the inner leader in people across the world.
Our WLD Ambassadors are the critical and energetic force behind the success in realizing our WLD vision and mission. In just over three years from its launch, WLD has grown to a team of 20 dynamic WLD Ambassadors, representing 18 countries. By end of 2012, WLD will have a strong presence in 50 countries, reaching the tipping point of its global transformational leadership initiative.
